A 501c3 providing Therapy K9 Services to those in need. With a focus on First Responders & Veterans.
Kinda a long post but please bear with me.Today I met a guy that told me his story and frankly it left me speechless. It also reinforces the reason why we are so dedicated to serving our Veterans and First Responders. This guy was a Marine who fought in Fallujah Iraq and was willing to tell me his story. He told me that he lost 31 of the Brothers in his company during the battle. He then proceeded to lift up his sleeve, exposing his arm where the names of every one of his lost Brothers names were tattooed. He went on to tell me that he suffers from PTSD and a TBI. For years he suffered from the effects as Doctors tried to find something that would help him. Like a lot of individuals that suffer with PTSD and TDI he tried everything to feel better including self medicating. This led to additional health problems and legal troubles. The great news is that he found a Doctor at the VA that got him the right treatment and he is a changed person.Long story short, some of our Veterans and First Responders go through experiences and traumas that most of us can't even imagine. The saying "a debt that can never be repaid" really means something and we should do whatever is in our individual skill sets to honor them and do what we can to pay back that debt.Disclaimer: He did tell me I could share his story and this picture.
Our second visit of the day was to our new friends at Brookdale Senior living.Mango got the honor this time and the Residents loved having her visit.
Busy day for our "Angels". Mitzi had the privilege of our first visit of the day to our great friends at the Spokane Regional Emergency Communications .
Kris and Mitzi headed into town today for more training and they ran into friends.Exposure to as many people, things, sights, sounds and even smells are crucial to developing a great dog, especially a dog that is going to be used for Therapy or Service work. Even our VID (Very Important Dog) Mango and Rayne have to do maintenance training to stay on top of their game.We are heading into a very busy week for the girls including 4 scheduled visits with one being a meet and greet with a potential new client that would be very special to us if we can serve them. 🙏🫰
